NEW ORLEANS - CITY PARK
In December of 2021, I was on holiday hiatus from a movie and spontaneously decided to organize an event I coined "Black Women in Film & TV". I initially planned for it to be a one-time event, but after seeing it's impact BWIFTV grew to become FEMME NOIRE - an annual community meetup for Black Women and Femmes in Audiovisual Production.
Our group has grown from the 15 ladies who attended the first year to over 90 members in 2023! Currently, the organization has officially expanded into a Distribution Company - one with a focus on platforming femme filmmakers of color in addition to our annual outreach event.

Oscar-Winning Production Designer Hannah Beachler (Creed, Moonlight, Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) gifted us with pearls of wisdom. Many of our attendees were inspired by seeing a Black Woman reach the highest echelon of our competitive industry!
