BIOGRAPHY

DEMI ANAIS is a genre-agnostic Writer, Director, Producer with a passion for creating immersive, character-driven films. Demi was formally introduced to filmmaking while attending The Willow High School. She was a student in their four year Media Arts program through which she was able to make two award winning short films, 'What You See Is What You Get' (2012) and 'Asking Amber' (2013). 

In college Demi started working as a Background Extra and, after graduating in 2017 from Tulane University with her Finance degree, became a Production Assistant in 2018. That year she began working in the Camera department and  joined IATSE Local 600 in 2021. 

In 2022, after four years of set work and independent study, Demi took a step outside of the Camera department to learn as a Director's Assistant. She then went on to complete her 3rd short 'Vodou' (2023). That year Demi also became a Stunt Performer and Videographer. 

In 2024, ‘Vodou’ was selected for several film festivals including the Essence Film Festival, the Smithsonian Museum of African American History & Culture’s FORWARD Film Festival, and the Oscar’s Qualifying New Orleans Film Festival. That year Demi also joined SAG-AFTRA as a Stunt Performer. In 2025, Demi participated in NAACP's Cinematic Shorts Competition where she completed her 4th short film 'Borrowed Time' which has since been nominated for an Anthem Community Voice Award. Demi is currently seeking financing for her Sci-Fi short ‘Memory Walk’, and Fantasy short 'Peisinoe'.
